The food was superb, the freshly shucked oysters and the seared scallops providing a real taste of the ocean and you could immediately tell these were high end products. The scallops especially were probably the best I have had in Shenzhen and the sauce they were in can only be described as divine. I wish I could have it on everything.
The star was the steak, which is what one would expect from a 'Beef Bar'. Cooked to perfection, it was so tender, just falling apart in your mouth. It is slow cooked and everyone agreed it was a fantastic piece of meat.
I quite honestly don't get the hype of this place. I got their "famous" burger and my partner got fish tacos. The burger was okay, certainly not any better than a fast food chain like Hotties. The burger was extremely greasy with tiny patties, the only saving grace was the bun which was very good but if the best part of a burger is the bun then we have a problem. The fish tacos were remarkably average. Absolutely nothing gave them any sort of pop or flavor, they were just bland and boring.
Also, I usually like a beer with my burger but was disappointed to find an almost non-existent beer list. I thought this was strange since the word 'beer' is included in their slogan.
Lastly, I couldn't figure out their vibe. What are they going for? Half of the restaurant feels slightly upscale and contemporary while the other half has a TV projector and stage for music giving it a sort of sports bar feel. Maybe choose one?
