Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...
Disney's US$5.5 billion theme park being built Shanghai is taking longer than expected to build, and is now slated for opening in early 2016, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Previously due to open at the end of this year, the publication cites sources close to the project, who say the delay is because officials want a smooth and trouble free opening. Ejinsight.com hints that the delay may have more to do with the tragic events at The Bund on new Year's Eve. Perhaps developers are re-examining their health and safety standards...?
It's also thought Disney would like to make the most of opening the theme park in the spring months, perhaps closer to the 2016 Lunar New Year holiday. Hang tight Disney fans!
