Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...

We hope you've all got a head for heights...Officials announced yesterday that the 632 meter high Shanghai Tower will open it's sightseeing deck to the public this June for an initial soft-opening phase, reports Shanghai Daily

You'll be able to take one of three high-speed elevators to reach the 560-meter-high platform within a minute in the 137-floor skyscraper — the world’s second tallest building to take in panoramic views of the city.

Costing 15 billion yuan (US$2.5 billion), the Shanghai Tower in  Lujiazui is the world’s second tallest building, after the 829.8m Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It is set to open in full this year.

The entry price for the experience has yet to be decided but tickets for the sightseeing platform in the nearby Jin Mao Tower are 120 yuan (US$19.3) and 180 yuan for the Shanghai World Financial Center. The platform will also feature souvenir stores, a post office and exhibition areas.
