From tomorrow through Sunday, September 20-24, Michelin-starred chef Tam Chudaree Debhakam will be guest chef at The 1515 West Chophouse & Bar in Jing An Shangri-La, Shanghai.
Chef Tam is owner and head chef of one-Michelin-starred – and Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 – Baan Tepa in Bangkok, and will be presenting guests with modern Thai gastronomy.
Chef Tam’s guest shift contributes to an important component of Shangri-La Group’s 'Find Your Shangri-La,' global campaign aimed at delivering joyful experiences that inspire guests to discover their personal version of what the Shangri-La means to them.
The campaign began with Restaurant Petrus at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, which welcomed three-Michelin-starred guest chef Emmanuel Renaut from Flocons de Sel restaurant, bringing guests the flavors of the French Alps with his inventive style.
Chef Tam will continue down this path at The 1515 West Chophouse & Bar in Jing An Shangri-La, guiding guests to continue the 'Find Your Shangri-La' whimsical journey into Thai gastronomy with no limits on creativity and passion.
After studying and working in New York, Chef Tam was crowned the first winner of Top Chef Thailand in 2017.
She has toured the world from London to Tokyo and now to Shanghai, showcasing modern Thai cuisine combined with authenticity and creativity.
The menu, inspired by and created exclusively for Jing An Shangri-La, Shanghai, features the chef's focus on Thai herbs and spices and includes Blue Lobster with Tom Yum Consomme, Southern Thai-style Curry, Wagyu Ribeye with Tomato Terrine, Grilled Beef Tongue and Baked Spiced Rice, Chanterelle Puff Tart with Prik Laab Spices, Jack Fruit and Thai Chocolate, and more.
In addition, King Wang, Court of Master Sommeliers Advanced Sommelier and the hotel's Beverage Director, has curated wine pairings to perfectly complement Chef Tam’s menu. Guests can also enjoy two cocktails designed for the event, focusing on the theme of 'Find Your Shangri-La.'
Shangri-La is inviting all Thai food lovers and guests to enjoy the culinary art of Thai cuisine, inspired by Shangri-La in their retro-styled chophouse, offering lunch and dinner menus.
All diners will receive a special gift and stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes, including international flight round-trip tickets, hotel accommodation vouchers and more.
