Hong Kong-based artist Yang Hao has been trying to combine dance theater with a Cantonese talk show and a Mandarin talk show since 2018, to create a contemporary art form with a strong personal style.
Yang refers to this novel form as dance-up comedy and gives the growing series an endearingly humorous and autobiographical title: Legend of Hao Hao.
This performance at the 1862 Theater, supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, is the Shanghai premiere of contemporary dance comedy.
In Shanghai, Yang Hao continues to expand the dance-up comedy concept with the help of Liu Qi, a comedian and talk-show wizard. The two will perform a new Shanghai version of Legend of Hao Hao based on the magic city, in a mix of Mandarin and Cantonese.

Where: 1862 Theater, 1777 Binjiang Dadao, Pudong New Area
