Think you need to head to Hainan for surf, sun and the sand between your toes?
Think again, as The Bund Finance Center Summer Wave has crashed the party, with outdoor surfing, beach camping, summer markets, food vendors, outdoor movies, indoor salons and exciting displays for the next couple of months.
Surfs Up!
Let's start with the surfing, because... it's surfing on the Bund! BFC has installed a 15-meter-long, 6-meter-wide surfing machine on its North Plaza. Until the end of August, you can enjoy the fun of riding waves, under the professional guidance of surfing instructors, from 10am-10pm weekends and 1-10pm weekdays.

Ride the Wave
Just next to the surfing machine is a bona fide beach, complete with real sand and camping areas, allowing visitors to experience oceanside living on the Bund. BFC has teamed up with Mexican beer brand Corona, known as 'Sunset in a Bottle,' to present beach sunset concerts, with the beach becoming a huge dance floor.
Urban Beach Glamping
Outdoor brand MOBI GARDEN has selected popular outdoor products to create a luxury camping AKA 'glamping' scene on the lawn of the camping area.
Water gun battle games, craft beer, trendy products and a cozy rest area created by artistic giant sprays and hammocks all allow visitors to socialize casually with a unique experience.
Professional camping equipment also allows visitors to take camping photos on the Bund.
Weekend Market @BFC
Right next to the beach and camping area, a weekend market at BFC offers the finest food and drink from around the world. With funky tunes pumping from the sound system, the outdoor market feel is complete.
For those looking to cool off, BFC Kyoto House has launched its Summer House, beautifully adorned with Japanese lanterns, providing refreshing sake and specialty coffee drinks, so that everyone can take a short break from the hot daily life and enjoy the tranquility.
Activities & Shows
As well as the live band there will be special shows all summer long. The opening weekend saw the star coaches of BFC FITNESS leading sports enthusiasts in full-body muscle training.
On June 23, Fosun Art Center will be previewing explosive environmental drama The Grand Expedition. All the way from the UK, it will be a wonderful and immersive fantasy adventure for all.
Other highlights over the summer include parent-child orienteering, open-air movies, terrace parties and more, making for wave after wave of magical summer memories.
Taking place this Saturday, July 17, the parent-child orienteering competition, known as the Little Summer Festival, will see 300 families invited to explore popular check-in spots. On Saturday, July 24, BFC FITNESS will bring an exciting rowing machine racing challenge.
From August 1 to October 8, the exhibition The Playful World of Eric Carle by The Kiddy Art Museum will be held on the 5/F NOW, South District of BFC. The exhibition will lead children to explore the mysteries of nature in the form of immersive interaction.
