Jiahui Health Launches Pink Ribbon Women's Health Activity Month

In order to celebrate the 3-year anniversary of Jiahui International Hospital, Jiahui Health has officially launched an annual "Pink Ribbon" public welfare project activity month, which enjoys the joint participation of government departments, charities, social enterprises and other partners who have joined with Jiahui to promote women’s health and highlight the humanitarian background and international characteristics of medical institutions. On October 16, at the second charity concert and press conference for "Pink Ribbon" month, Jiahui International Hospital and its partners officially announced plans for charity surgeries and breast health screenings, as well as other charity projects.

Spreading Love and Support Throughout October

According to reports, breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in women, and the incidence rate in China continues to rise each year. The "Pink Ribbon" is a recognized symbol for global breast cancer prevention and treatment activities. It is used to promote the message of "early prevention, early detection, and early treatment", and countries around the world have designated October as "Breast Cancer Prevention Month".

Jiahui International Hospital has officially launched the "Pink Ribbon- We Care More" charity activity month, which will promote breast cancer prevention, treatment, and patient care throughout October. During this period, Jiahui has joined with the Pink Angel Cancer Patient Care Center and many other organizations to hold three public welfare concerts at Jiahui International Hospital with the theme of "Pink Ribbon - We Care More" from September 26 to October 31, as well as providing free breast health screenings and breast reconstruction surgery to patients in need.

This series of activities, named by the Xuhui District Women’s Federation, is also the first public welfare project based on women's health promotion officially launched by Jiahui International Hospital.

Early Screening and Early Prevention, Practical Sctions That Benefit Patients

On October 16, during the press release of the second public welfare concert, Dr. John Hsiang, Chief Medical Officer of Jiahui Health and Clinical President of Jiahui International Hospital, spoke to reporters, saying: “Breast cancer has always been a threat to women’s health. We hope that through this “Pink Ribbon” event, we will arouse public attention for women’s breast health, give back to local patients with our advanced, international medical resources, and encourage institutions and companies in different fields to work together to advocate for the public to improve breast cancer awareness and prevention."

"I am a beneficiary of early breast cancer screening," said 52-year-old Ms. Gu, a patient representative who introduced her experience to the attendees. During a public welfare screening activity organized by Jiahui International Hospital, doctors discovered a nodule in her breast. She was diagnosed quickly, followed by aggressive treatment. "I am very grateful to Jiahui for the screening activity. It is an incredibly important thing they are doing."

Regarding areas that are easily overlooked in breast cancer prevention and treatment, Dr. Tibor Kovacs, Director of Breast Surgery at Jiahui International Hospital and Chairman of the European Society of Surgical Oncology, said: “The scientific treatment of breast cancer starts with personal attention and prevention. It is recommended that all women, especially those at high risk, such as those with a family history of related diseases, should receive regular breast health screening. This, in combination with a healthy lifestyle, will allow any issues can be addressed and resolved through timely screening and diagnosis."

In order to reach more patients, Jiahui Health has cooperated with the breast cancer patient community to provide free breast cancer reconstruction surgery to a number of eligible patients. Surgeries will be performed by Dr. Kovacs. On October 16, the Jiahui Breast Institute also carried out a free breast health clinic in the hospital, and Jiahui Health will provide more than 100 free breast health screenings.

Cross-Industry Cooperation to Support Women’s Health

In order to call on more people to participate in the "Pink Ribbon" activity and show love to the breast cancer community, Jiahui Health also designed a “Pink Ribbon- We Care More" charity bracelet to convey encouragement and support to breast cancer patients. The money raised from the charity sale was donated to the "Pink Angel Special Fund" of the Shanghai Charity Foundation.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Hsiang said: "This is the first year that Jiahui Health has officially launched the 'Pink Ribbon' charity project, but we are already discussing cooperation details with various organizations and planning the future of the project. We hope to continue promoting this event and developing it into an annual women’s health charity project."

As a long-term partner of Jiahui Health, Didi Luxe provided exclusive car services for some of the guests arriving at the October 16 charity concert. It also used internal and external online channels to promote women's health travel and the early prevention and treatment of breast cancer during Pink Ribbon month.

High-level officials from Jiahui and Didi Luxe also agreed on a cooperation framework to "create a one-stop experience for high-end travel + high-end medical services", and in order to jointly promote the "Pink Ribbon" charity project over the next 3-5 years. 

Yang Nan, General Manager of Didi Luxe, said: “Didi Luxe always adheres to the value proposition of reliable, exclusive service, and innovative experience', and hopes to join hands with Jiahui Health to bring women’s health charity projects to new heights and to create more value for users."

The third "Pink Ribbon - We Care More" theme charity concert and donation ceremony will be held at Jiahui International Hospital on October 31. Relevant persons in charge of the Shanghai Charity Foundation will attend the event and accept the donations raised by Jiahui Health and its partner organizations on behalf of the foundation.
