The Corey Harris Band are coming to Shanghai this week. Denver, Colorado-born blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and band leader Harris will take the stage at Blue Note Shanghai for two nights this October 5-6, with two performances each night, and we have one pair of tickets for each performance to give away (four pairs in total).
Harris began his music career as a street singer in New Orleans. He also lived in Cameroon for a year, a stint which would impact his music sensibilities profoundly. His debut album, Between Midnight and Day, was released in 1995 and produced by composer Larry Hoffman, who discovered Harris in Arizona the year before. Awarded the MacArthur Fellows Program in 2007, Harris has carved out his own peculiar niche in blues music. He has been known to fuse his own brand of blues music with everything from Northern Mali sounds to Johnny Cash tributes.
