Aug 15: SVBKVLT & AsianDopeBoys pres. Gabber Modus Operandi

Indonesian duo Gabber Modus Operandi arrive in Shanghai just one day before their second album, HOXXXYA drops on Shanghai label SVBKVLT. They are known for experimenting with everything from gabber and footwork to grindcore and noise. They’ll be joined by Howell, Hyph11e, Shy Shine and XDD on the evening.

Aug 15: Eating Music pres. Wheelz Vol 2.0

Eating Music Label swing by Elevator this week for the second edition of Wheelz. Pacoz, one of the students picked for the upcoming Eating Music Camp, and an alumni of Beijing label S!LK, will be joined by Ollo-Mam and Go See as the label gear ups for a showcase at the end of the month, and their abovementioned camp.

Aug 16: Huun Huur Tu

Tuvan group Huun Huur Tu are taking in a national tour of China this month. Tuva is a republic on the border of Mongolia and Russia with a stellar musical history. The band are known for their throat singing and their use of traditional Tuvan instruments and are bound to stir the senses.

Nu Zau is one of the leading producers and DJs to have come out of Romania's electronic scene in the past few years. Inspired by well-established names such as Ricardo Villalobos, Rhadoo, Thomas Melchior and many others, he's grown into a well-established in the country in a very short time.

Capable of turning it out on any dancefloor Riva Starr has been invited onto the biggest stages, from Glastonbury to Fuji Rock. He has also opened for Jamiroquai in Ibiza and has worked with artists as diverse as Horace Andy, Jocelyn Brown, Green Velvet and Arthur Baker.

Get out and support ShanghaiPRIDE this weekend at their second annual Drag King Party. DJs Alynna and Ikuiku will be providing the tunes, while participants in the drag king contest will be donning their Sunday best and strolling down the catwalk. Drag Kings, Oliver Cumming and Mitch Bitchpleaser will also be performing on the evening.
