Jul 31: American Football

Recently reunited emo math rock band, American Football, is coming to China for the first time. These underground rock legends have influenced generations of independent artists with their confessional lyrics and delicious ambient stylings. Local band, Chinese Football, will be opening for their American counterparts.

Aug 1: LANY

LANY, an alternative band from Los Angeles, is returning to Shanghai after their recent album release. The three-person group has performed with stars like John Mayer, Halsey, Ellie Goulding and more. Their performance in Shanghai is part of a world tour that spans 5 continents. The last two times the group came to Shanghai their shows sold out, so make sure you don’t miss this one.

Aug 2: AMnesiac

AMnesiac, a four piece instrumental post-rock band, is coming to Shanghai Yuyintang Music Park this Friday as part of their first national tour. The band’s latest album, AM, was released this June and reflects on love, urban landscapes, freedom and more. Expect a moving performance alongside opening band, 21 Grams.

Aug 2: N.A.A.F.I/Thuvdr/Out of Fashion Boys pres. Fausto Bahia

Fausto Bahia, world-renowned DJ and co-founder of experimental Mexican record label N.A.A.F.I, is coming to China this week. On Friday, Fausto Bahia will spin his Latin-based club music while the label throws a party at All Club. Over the past 10 years, N.A.A.F.I. has gained a stellar reputation for throwing parties internationally.

Aug 2: DJ Husman

DJ Husman, a rising star, is known for producing music that you can’t help but dance to. The Dutch DJ boasts over 70 million streams online and has official remixes with stars like Avicii, Rita Ora and more. Drop into Shanghai’s Linx Club on August 2 to catch his electrifying set.

Aug 2: Gregor Salto

Aug 2: Project One

Dutch hardstyle duo Project One are bouncing into Shanghai this weekend. Made up of two of the most famous names in the niche genre of music, Headhunterz and Wildstylez, Project One formed in 2008 dropping two fantastic albums in the intervening years. The duo rarely plays live shows, so this is a must-see for any fans of hardstyle music.

Aug 3: Colin Phils

Colin Phils, an indie math rock band originally from Shenzhen, is returning to China from their new home in Richmond, Virginia. Their complex instrumental music and harmonious vocals are both catchy and moving. The foursome will be in Shanghai this weekend to play a show you won’t want to miss.
