Concrete & Grass Music Festival Will Not Be Happening in 2019

Bad news Shanghai music fans, one of our favorite local music festivals, Concrete & Grass, is taking a break in 2019, citing big birthday celebrations occurring around the same time as their usual September time slot.

The organizers released an article on their WeChat account on the morning of Monday, June 3 explaining their decision to take a year off. While the article doesn’t go into exact details, it should be noted that China turns 70 years old this year, on October 1.

The fourth edition of Concrete & Grass in 2018 was a huge success, with the folks at Split Works drafting in acts like Daddy Yankee, The Cribs, Oneohtrix Point Never, and many more, to give the folks of Shanghai a huge weekend of excellent, and zany, music.
