Australia-based Wakefield Taylors Family Wines released a limited quantity of only 1,080 bottles of Wakefield The Legacy Cabernet in Shanghai on May 17. This rare vintage was created by the Taylor family at their boutique chateau in Southern Australia's Clare Valley. It is not only a tribute to the winery's 50-year history, but The Legacy marks a new direction of the future of Wakefield Wines.
The Top Cabernet Is a Tribute to 50 Years of Success
Wakefield Wines is now one of the most acclaimed wineries in the world. Founded in 1969, it is the youngest member of the first Australian family’s chateau alliance. The Taylor family has been running the winery and making great wines for three generations.
Always striving to be the best, Wakefield Wines is dedicated to blending masterpieces in the Clare Valley that have the same aging potential as the world’s top vintages. As the flagship wine for the 50th anniversary of the chateau, Wakefield The Legacy is a prime example of the brand's passion to craft the perfect wine.
A Rare Wine with Limited Availability
Wakefield The Legacy is a one-of-a-kind 2014 Cabernet. 2014 was an amazing year for Cabernets in the Clare Valley, which benefitted from the extremely warm and cool year-round climate. Wakefield Taylors Family Wines have balanced the sweet and sour flavor of this limited-edition Cabernet creating a true masterpiece.
The Taylor family drew inspiration from the Old World when crafting Wakefield The Legacy. The grapes were all cut from the vine by hand and each stem was removed gently for fermentation. The vintage wine was stored for years in their low-temperatured cellar and carefully monitored.
After aging for 36 months in a customized French rubber barrel, Wakefield The Legacy was ready to bottle. The aroma of this Cabernet blend is the same as an old chateau and has a price reflecting the extremely limited production and high quality. This is a wine that will only increase in value.
