May 6-10: Lizzy's Wellness Week - Green Smoothie Challenge

Lizzy's All Natural challenges you to drink a green smooth a day, for five days in a row, as part of their Wellness Week. Purchase a punch card for RMB155 good for five bottled green smoothies, and save 12 percent. The card is valid from May 6-19.

May 7-31: IPmAy

Hop heads rejoice! Hot on the heels Trinity of Hoppiness, Stone Brewing Tap Room are officially declaring May the month of IPAs. They’ve stockpiled an arsenal of IPA specialty creations from their Escondido, Liberty Station, and Napa breweries, and will feature a Lupulin Loop of ongoing specialty promotions and an ever-rotating selection of the best IPAs they have to offer all month long. All specialty beers are available on tap or in 1-liter crowlers for RMB68 each. Make sure your May is full of IPAs!

May 9: Healthy Chinese Regional Cooking

If want to wow your dinner guests with your command of regional Chinese recipes (that are healthy), join Kaixin Cooking for their weekly class. Learn how to make low oil, sodium and sugar versions of all your favorites. Scan the QR code on the flyer for details.

May 11: Healthy Chinese Cooking Vegan Class

Join Kaixin Cooking, and learn how to make healthy, reduced oil, low fat and minimal sugar versions of classic Chinese dishes. Vegans, vegetarians and other tofu lovers have two opportunities to learn three dishes: mushroom with firm tofu stir-fry, silken tofu okra salad, and cabbage with tofu puffs. May 10-12: 2019 Shanghai Jing'an World Coffee Culture Festival

Coffee lovers rejoice! The Shanghai Jing'an World Coffee Culture Festival is headed back to town this summer. Expect to sample goods from the best coffee brands, snack on delectable desserts and creative dishes, shop for one-of-a-kind goods, groove to jazz and electronic music, marvel at art installations and listen to cultural talks. Oh, and drink lots of coffee while you're at it!

May 10-12: The 6th Editon of Beernanza

Beernanza! A three-day extravaganza dedicated to all things beer. This'll be the sixth time Bevex organizes Shanghai's biggest beer festival in the Okura Garden Hotel. It's a must for fans of the hoppy nectar. There'll be something like 150 different craft and premium beers from China and the world present, with 45 music groups playing across three live music stages, and a bunch of prizes to win at games and competitions. Plus chances to brew your own beer (details below) and the Bear Olympics, hosted by the giant stuffed bears running around during the event.

May 10-12: Mixnanza

If you’re a cocktail aficionado – or just someone who likes to imbibe – then Mixnanza (held simultaneously with Beernanza) is for you. During this year’s fest, some of Shanghai’s best bartenders will be shaking and stirring over 100 different types of drinks for festivalgoers. The three-day festival will take place outdoors in the gorgeous park. Drinks aside, there will be 45 live musicians and DJs performing on three different stages all weekend long. Expect everything from tropical Latino music, hip-hop, reggae, EDM and more.

May 12: Vegan 7-Course Tasting Dinner

Kaixin Cooking and Ethel's Cakery are bringing foodies a plant-based fine dining experience like no other at Cohost West Bund. It will feature a range of delicious vegan Chinese food such as a vegan soup dumpling, purple rice in lotus leaf and five other courses. Don't miss out!

May 13: Game of Thrones Screenings

Everyone is talking about the Battle of Winterfell these days. If you don't want your “friends” to spoil the next installment, you'd better decide where you are watching GoT this week. Did your friend's with the ginormous TV refuse to host? No problem because there is a whole mess of places doing screenings with food and drink deals. Check that out here.  


May 15: Stone Beeer University on Barrel-Aged Beers

If you like drinking beer, you'll love drinking beer infused with more booze through the process known as barrel-aging. At this fifth edition of Stone Beer University, learn about the history, benefits and styles of barrel-aging used around the world. Sip six different barrel-aged brews (five-ounce pours) for RMB188, covering everything from Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Russian Stouts to Imperial Saisons with Peaches, from Belgian-style IPAs aged in Sonoma County Chardonnay barrels to Imperial IPAs aged in Tequila barrels and everything in between. Sign up online using the QR code to secure a spot ahead of time or purchase tickets directly at the Tap Room. Beer nerds and noobs alike are welcome.

May 17: Lorenzo Antinori Guest Shift

Coming from the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong is beverage ambassador, Lorenzo Antinori. The Italian bartender began his tenure at the Four Seasons in Seoul where he led Charles H. bar to spots on the World's and Asia's 50 Best Bars in its first year of operation. Meet him and taste his creations at the Four Seasons Pudong for a one-night-only.

May 1-31: Rum Hunt | The Grove's Fascination

The Grove distillery was originally set up as a wine estate until the two fraternal founders realised that Western Australia had the perfect climate for producing rum, their most-loved tipple. Focusing on small-batch production over quantity, the quality of their spirits is surely discernible in Cloud 9’s aromatic cocktails, only RMB88 for the whole of May.
