Apr 26: BENEDEK

Shanghai local crew Daily Vinyl and Xiamen’s BEATWEEN are presenting BENEDEK from LA at Dada on April 26. This dude’s released some of the sweetest modern synth-pop/boogie/proto-house music making this a must-see for electronic lovers.

Apr 26: Yeti Out & Friends

The Yeti Out crew is bringing in Japan’s Jin Dogg & Young Yujiro for a vinyl only set at The Edition. With all the friends in tow, you can expect eevrything from funk to ratchet rap anthems. Best to RSVP if you’re looking to get in, which you can do via 247tickets - after midnight there’s a cover, but it gets you a drink so it's not all bad.

Apr 26-27: The Live Mixtape

Watch what happens when a top DJ directs a full concert by a live band. Expect wild tempo changes, vocals being swapped over instrumentals, extended breaks, medleys and lots of dance-floor madness. SMTH the Music Director of ASL Shanghai has arranged this show by SHAKE’s six-piece band The Shanghai Sheiks and Courtney Knott. Expect a live blend of contemporary hip hop and R&B and classic funk and soul. Anything can happen! (Except DJing. There will be no actual DJing).

Apr 30: Alter. Presents Bambounou

Alter. is back again at 44KW for an eclectic evening featuring one of the Parisian scene’s key figures, Bambounou. Dark alluring beats alongside tantalizing rhythms, his effortless straddling of experimental eclecticism and 4x4 beat mastery helped catch the eye of label Modeselektor. Joining the decks alongside Bambounou in Room 44 is one of the backbones of techno in China - MIIIA, with China Social Club laying down the disco and funk in Room KW.
