Head to Yuyintang for an eclectic set of Latin, prog rock and soulful ballads from four very different Shanghai-based outfits. Renata Niella, Galēan, Olam and That's It (heh, cute) are playing, not quite until dawn, but into the evening showcasing a diverse range of genres that'll give you a taste of who's doing what in this sleepless city of ours.
Feb 15, 9pm, RMB50. Yuyintang, see event listing.
Feb 15: XIA

If you're into Afro desert fusion, then you're going to want to hit this month's Xia. Percussion, guitar, vocals and "visual wizardry" will come together for a live show and a break from their usual programming.
Feb 15, 9pm, no cover. Dada, see event listing.
Feb 15: GG Lobster

Born beneath the sign of twin fish, GG Lobster has been trashing around the peaceful, historical waterways of Hangzhou for some time now. His latest release, Punk Rock Karaoke, makes trippy electrified updates to songs by such punk behemoths as The Clash, Sex Pistols and The Ramones. Partnering with Genome 6.66MBP and Function Lab, this show combines experimental production with live music for a heavy set in Shelter's little brother.
Feb 15, 10pm, RMB60. ALL Club, see event listing.
Feb 16: Glades

This fresh Australian alternative pop trio only just put out their debut album, but they’re already becoming one of the hottest acts to watch from the Land Down Under. Like a way cooler, less annoying version of The Chainsmokers. After gaining momentum online with hundreds of millions of streams, and finishing a sell-out Australian tour, they’ll be coming to Shanghai for a show packed with synths, complex electro-pop beats and solemn melodies.
Feb 16, 9pm, RMB120 pre-sale, RMB150 door. Yuyintang Park, see event listing, buy tickets.
Feb 20: Kodaline

Following the release of their 2018 album Politics of Living, Kodaline are bringing a new show and new setlist to town. The four-piece from Dublin known for their radio-ready rock sound have been likened to Coldplay and The Head and The Heart, with folk vibes that’ll give you all the feels.
Feb 20, 8pm, RMB520. Bandai Namco Shanghai Base, see event listing, buy tickets.
