That's Shanghai takes a look at some of the week's best upcoming F&B events: 


Jan 25: Peddlers Gin x el Willy Degustation

Award-winning chef Koen Vessies from El Willy has teamed up with local Shanghai craft gin Peddlers. They have created a one night only cocktail dinner pairing of seven delicious courses.

Jan 25: Friends of Stone – AleSmith Tasting

Stone Brewing Tap Room has invited their buddies from San Diego's AleSmith Brewery to share three unique brews with Shanghai. Sip on the creamy, coffee-flavored Speedway Stout (draft), the complex Horny Devil Belgian Golden Ale and the malty Grand Cru, a Belgian strong dark ale (both available in bottles). These bottles usually sell for over RMB100 each, but you can taste all three beers in one sitting for just RMB88. Beer is on a first come first serve basis, so gather your friends and check it out.

Jan 25: 2019 Tarot Divination

Jan 25-26: Three Corners of Malaysia at Shake

Chef Danyi Gao is finally bringing back her 'Around The World' series. This month, she's preparing food from not just one but three parts of Malaysia! 

Malaysia is a melting pot of numerous different cultures, which means it has some incredibly unique and tasty food. Danyi Gao's three-course meal has enough food for two people, and includes some of the most iconic and delicious Malaysian dishes. 

The set is only available for one weekend, so hurry down to Shake and travel without leaving the city!

Jan 25-27: Caring for Cambodia School Supplies Fundraiser

This weekend our friends at The Rooster are holding a school supplies fundraiser for Caring for Cambodia. Swing by, donate some tools for the future generation, and enjoy a free Boulevard Single-Wide IPA for your contribution! The items they need the most are first aid kits/equipment, toothpaste, toothbrushes, laptops, tablets, headphones and children's books.

Jan 26: Monthly Un' Market at un Caffè Bar

We love a good weekend market, and un Caffè Bar's monthly event highlights artisans in the fields of fashion, jewelry, food, accessories, art and more. The goal is to connect the makers directly with people who appreciate their beautiful products. Go pick up a treasured object, eat yummy foods and establish a personal connection with the vendors. Jan 26-27: Australia Day at The Rooster

Aussie Aussie Aussie! Australia Day is here! And the Rooster family is always down to party, so celebrate with the solid deals we all deserve. Expect specials on cans of Mornington Hop Culture Session IPA and bottles of Victoria Bitter (VB) for just RMB35 a pop! For the same down under price, there's also a special Australian themed cocktail: the West Winds Cutlass Gin and Capi Tonic!

Jan 29: Cicchetti Tuesdays at Funkadeli

At Funkadeli the first stop on their new Cicchetti Tuesday tour is at Venice's famous Rialto Bridge where you can enjoy any cicchetti for only RMB10! In Venice, cicchetti is the name for the Italian version of tapas, otherwise known as stuzzichini in Southern Italy and antipasti to many Italian-Americans. Names aside, these little bites make the perfect starter, or little snack with a glass of wine or a spritz.

Jan 29: Hot Pot Night at La Maison

La Maison is bringing back their popular hot pot night. Enjoy a classic Chinese meal with fresh, organic vegetables from farm partner,  Goma Greens. You get an individual hot pot (no sharing germs here) and unlimited refills.

Jan 30: Cook it Chinese

Join chefs Pol Garcia (Spain) and Koen Vessies (Holland) for an unforgettable journey through Chinese gastronomy. The talented chefs will be preparing a six-course dinner of Chinese food at Lychee. The dinner is priced at RMB298, and for RMB140 more you also get two glasses of wine and two special craft cocktails.

Until Jan 31: Order Rosca de Reyes from El Luchador

Rosca de Reyes (ring of the kings) is a Spanish and Spanish American King's Cake pastry eaten to celebrate Epiphany. While traditionally enjoyed on January 6, on Día de Reyes, you can order them from El Luchador Xintiandi until the end of January. Quantities are limited so get those orders in soon.
