That's Shanghai takes a look at the best art exhibitions of the week:
GUCCI x Maurizio Cattelan: The Artist is Present

This is your last weekend to check out The Artist is Present. Italian Maurizio Cattelan has partnered with Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, to bring a surreal collection of curated works to the Yuz Musem. Exploring how originality can be acheived through acts of repetition, the exhibition inspired by Marina Abromovic's 2010 live performance (as featured in the Jay Z music video for 'Picasso Baby' which, fun fact, revolves around a relatively interesting controversy that you should definitely look up) is runnning through to December.
Until Dec 16, RMB60, Yuz Museum.
Takashi Murakami in Wonderland

While the Murakami exhibition at Lu One mall may have been fake, Perrotin's put on the real deal. You have to make a reservation on the gallery's website to come see the artist's first solo show in Chinese mainland, but with a few new large scale works on view, the free show is worth a little extra planning.
Until Jan 5, Perrotin Gallery.
Pollen: Ugo Schildge Solo Show

Opening this weekend is Ugo Schildge's Asia debut. As the newest artist signed with the gallery, the exhibition evaluates our relationship with nature and the role of pollenation in the ecosystem through allegorical tales of a world devoid of natural resources.
Until Jan 13, Galerie Dumonteil.
Wang Haiyang

In three parts, these experimental works showcase some of Wang Haiyang's most inventive efforts yet. A looped video titled Party In the Anus, compliments an additional video work with subsequent drawings and paintings of hair covered humans in the freshly painted walls of the Anfu Lu gallery.
Until Dec 25, Capsule Shanghai.
Cindy Sherman

Fosun Foundation Shanghai presents a well-acclaimed collection of the remarkable senior figure of photography in the United States. Bringing together 128 series of photographs and several shooting props along with references spanning different periods, this retrospective survey traces Cindy Sherman’s career from the 1970s to the present day, attempting to explore dominant themes in her work throughout four decades. In conjunction with the exhibition, Sherman has nine brand new works to unveil to the public. She also custom-designed two pieces of wallpapers for Fosun Foundation Shanghai.
Until Jan 13, RMB90 pre-sale, valid Tue-Sun, RMB100 door. Fosun Foundation, buy tickets.
Peter Passed By Here: Guo Xi Solo Show

Guo Xi is an impressionable man - literally and figuratively. The artist's second solo show at Vanguard Gallery includes installations, sculptures and paintings of what look like footprints left in cement or soil. Inspired by the constant renovations in Hangzhou and the impressions left by trodding soles, he imagines their names, their histories and their stories through this body of work.
Until Dec 31, Vanguard Gallery.
