If you’re living in Shanghai, you might want to watch those packages. A man was recently detained by local police for stealing packages from an apartment complex on Langao Road in Putuo District, Shine reports.

The string of robberies began on July 10 when the suspect, surnamed Zhao, took a package from the complex’s hallway. Zhao, who worked at a barbeque restaurant, was delivering food to the building when he spotted a bunch of unaccompanied packages in the complex and decided to take one.

Zhao realized that the packages were only being supervised by a security guard during the day, not overnight. So he returned to the building multiple times to steal more packages, taking two or three each time and hiding them in his delivery bag.

While he may have thought he was getting away with the crimes, Zhao didn’t realize that his actions were caught on video.

A resident called the police to report a missing package on July 16.

According to Zhao, he ended up tossing all of his stolen goods because the packages were full of children’s toys.

Even though the stolen items only cost around RMB300, Zhao might be facing criminal charges because he kept repeating the crime.
