Salut! Saturday July 14 is none other than Bastille Day (aka French National Day). As the French commemorate the storming of the gates of the Bastille fortress in 1789 – a key moment in the French Revolution – a few establishments around Shanghai will also join in on the festivities. Here are some places you can go this year to celebrate the Fête de la Fédération.

Culture Shock Tour

No need to travel very far to experience French culture during this Bastille Day. Culture Shock Tour is offering their classic bike tour experience for a ride around the former French Concession. It's the perfect way to seek out all of the area's hidden gems (and sweet treats!).

July 14, RMB360, Culture Shock Tour, see event listing.

On Saturday, Mr. & Mrs. Bund is offering a special brunch and dinner in honor of Bastille Day. Brunch will consist of all sorts of delicious treats: omelets, croissants, croque madame and French press coffee. And if you want to get a little boozy, the Bloody Mary's will be flowing. If you're looking for a special place to dine, there is no better way to continue the celebration into the night than with Shanghai’s favorite couple, Mr. & Mrs. Bund. There will be plenty of drink specials and DJ Keint and DJ John Avolio will be there all night long to provide the tunes. Don’t forget to show up in France’s national colors: red, white and blue.

Brunch: July 14-15, 11.30am-2.30pm, see event listing. Dinner: July 14, 5.30pm-11.30pm, RMB488, see event listing. Mr. & Mrs. Bund.
