This September, strap on those sneakers and get ready to race through everyone’s favorite family destination, Shanghai Disney Resort. The famous franchise has been hosting Disney Inspiration Runs since 1994, when the event kicked off in Orlando, and now the run is coming to Shanghai. Scheduled for the weekend of September 15-16, this is a fun way to see the resort while keeping fit and being part of a festive event.
Whether you want to run, hop or skip to the finish line, the Disney Inspiration Run is all about having fun while the classic characters cheer you on from the sidelines. Disney has partnered with the Shanghai International Marathon to ensure the weekend event runs smoothly, and the first 50 men and women to finish the 10-kilometer race will receive automatic entry to the Shanghai International Marathon in November.
If you're not up for the 10-kilometer run (September 16), there is also a 3.5-kilometer race for children five years and older, or a 5-kilometer race for those over 16 (September 15).
All participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Disney character, and they will receive a special Disney Inspiration Run shirt as well as a medal when they complete the race. After crossing the finish line, participants will also receive discounted Shanghai Disney Resort tickets, so that the family can celebrate their accomplishments in the Magic Kingdom.
This unforgettable experience is sure to be popular so take the time to sign up via the official website from 10am, July 2. The entrance fee ranges from RMB279 for the 3-kilometer race, to RMB349 for the 5 and 10-kilometer.
