These Streets Will Be Closed This Weekend for the Shanghai Half Marathon

The 2018 Shanghai International Half Marathon will take place on Sunday April 22, which means some key roads in Pudong will be closed this weekend. 

The race will begin at the Pearl Tower and the route will run past the Lujiazui high-rises, New Bund Park, Expo Park and more. The race will end at the Oriental Sports Centre

Therefore, the streets near these areas will be impacted on both Saturday and Sunday. Note that the race route will be completely closed to vehicles from 6.45-10.45am on Sunday. 

SHINE has outlined which roads will be closed to traffic and at what times in the map below:

  • 10pm on Saturday until 12pm Sunday: Yongyao Road (between Yaolong and Dongyu roads) 

  • Sunday, 7am-12pm: Dongyu Road (between Yangsi Road W. and Yongyao Road)

  • Sunday, 5-7.30am: Portions of Fenghe Road and Mingzhuta Road

In addition to road closures, the Dongjin, Dongfu, Yangfu and Nanlu ferry lines will be closed from 6.45-8.35am on Sunday. 

15,000 runners are expected to participate in this weekend’s half marathon.
