Feb 7: Julie Byrne
Folk musician Julie Byrne released her sophomore album, Not Even Happiness,
last year to wide acclaim. Raised in Buffalo, New York and an avid
traveler through the United States, she's known for her ethereal and
emotionally resonating folk songs about relationships and the natural

Yuyintang.

Feb 9: Late Jack + Big Muppet + Fighting Back
For the final Friday of the year of the rooster, check out this show of Shanghai bands from three different genres at Yuyintang. Punk-rockers Late Jack are joined by funk band Big Muppet and hardcore band Fighting Back.

Feb 10: Rebirth in the Spring
Another Chinese New Year-themed show, Rebirth in the Spring offers a the Year of the Rooster a send-off of heavy music. The roster includes
metal band TOC (Theory of Convergence), whose members hail from China, France and the
Philippines, plus progressive metalcore/djent band Vajra (who recently
changed their name from Pillars of Concrete) and garage rock, grunge and
metal trio Zhaojiabang.
