Dec 14: Boombox Cartel
Boombox Cartel are a duo of Mexican EDM producers known for their genre-blending bass tracks. They’re stopping in Shanghai for a show at Modern Sky Lab after touring the US and playing sets at festivals like Lollapalooza and Electric Daisy Carnival.

Dec 15: Re-Charge: Christmas Art Party
This
potent hybrid of a Christmas market, club night and art show brings
together local vendors of jewelry, accessories and upcycled products
with local musicians and artists. The roster includes ambient electronic
duo Peng Zhuang, Italian dance wave producer Altieri and Shanghainese
techno hero MHP. The art showings include improvised dance, live light
painting, and experimental installations to catch your eye as you pick
up a few last minute gifts.

Dec 15: Pixelord & Saburov
Moscow DJs and producers Pixelord and Saburov return to Shanghai for a set of their uniquely colorful bass music — expect a dynamic mix of sounds that span sinister grime and joyful synth. Celebrated Shanghai producer and Genome member Hyph11e performs in support.

Dec 15: Xhin
Active since 1997, Singapore DJ Xhin brings his unique take on dark, sinister, atmospheric techno to Shanghai for a set at Elevator. Head there for a deliciously evil night on the dance floor.

Dec 16: SNAP! Holiday Party
Queer
nightlife crew Snap! throws a holiday party for the ages at Xixi
Bistro, taking over the entire 2-floor bar and restaurant. DJ The Uhhh
will spin his mix of sunny house and disco, and the the stroke of
midnight will bring a special queer Christmas-themed live performance.
Ticket price covers a welcome glass of Prosecco and one house pour.

Dec 16: Love Bang: Akashic Voyage
The
last Love Bang party of 2017 offers up an excellent roster of
locally-based DJ talent, including Ceezy, Illsee of Stockholm Syndrome,
Provoda of VOID and OG Shanghai duo Baijiu Robot, who formed a decade
ago in 2008. Expect surreal, cosmic visuals from VJ Chen Xixi and a mix
of dance music spanning funk, hip hop, Italo disco, post-punk, dark
wave, house and more.

Dec 16: Louisahhh
Born and raised in New York, Louisahhh is one of the leading techno producers working out of Paris, dealing in dark and driving techno with strong melodies and the occasional use of her own vocals. She’s released on Brodinski’s Bromance label and founded RAAR record label with French producer Maelstrom. Catch her return to Shanghai at Dada.

Dec 16: The Spot Got Talent 2017
The Spot hosts a charity Christmas party and talent show to raise money for Shanghai Healing homes, which helps children with surgically correctable deformities. There will be live music, free tequila shots and a gift exchange.

Dec 16: Techno Train 3 Year Anniversary
Shanghai promotion crew Techno Train celebrates three years in the game, during which time they’ve hosted over 50 events in 10 cities across China. Join their anniversary celebrations with special guest DJ NIGLS, plus Lina K and Vltrau in support. Cover price includes a drink.

Dec 17: Desiigner
Brooklyn-born
rapper Desiigner rose to prominence last year when his single “Panda”
reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. Known for his take on
southern-style hip-hop and trap, he’s currently at work on a debut
studio album and has collaborated with Kanye West and Gucci Mane. Catch
his Sunday night performance at Arkham from STD.
