Calling those who like tropical grilled meats, good times and fruity cocktails – mai tai interest you in a one-night-only tiki takeover by mixologist Yao Lu and his Union Trading Company cohort chef Austin Hu? (Sorry, dad joke alert.)
This Saturday August 19 they'll be channelling Don the Beachcomber vibes at Jazz lounge and restaurant Shake, with a four-course menu and two tropically informed cocktails for RMB398 per person.
Chef Hu (also of Diner, Madison Kitchen) has hinted that a pu pu platter is on-course for the evening's degustation, in addition to a crispy pork belly main "with island inclinations," and a poke bowl "of course." There has also been talk of crab rangoons made with real crab, but not set in stone, k?
As for Yao Lu, he's staying mum on what's in store but here's a hint, it rhymes with 'mum.' Ok, it's rum. Delicious Plantation 'Old Fashioned Traditional Dark' Caribbean rum. Additional drinks after the included two RMB70 a throw.
