Hey craft beer fiends: Jing-A, one of the capital's favorite homegrown craft beer breweries, is a-coming to Shanghai again for a tap takeover at The Hop Project this weekend. And just like last time, they're bringing their seasonal, extremely limited-quantity Beijing Bikini Watermelon Wheat beer with them.
But that's not all they've got in their suitcases; there'll be a total of seven beers on tap, including: Flying Fist IPA, Mandarin Wheat, Tuhao Gold Pilsner, Guizhou Smoked Chilli Porter, Dualistic Oversimplification Szechuan Sour (try saying that one five times) and Party Beer Helles.
Helles to the yes.
Can't make it this weekend? That's a bummer, but Jing-A has told us that they're currently in the midst of brewing their first big batch of the Watermelon Wheat, and are expecting it to be distributed in Shanghai on a larger scale by July. More deets to follow.
But wait, why should you care about this watermelon beer? Well, it's made with award-winning fruit grown by China's King of Watermelons, Lao Song (®!) and is generally lauded by Bejingers for its delicate, light flavor and seasonal indication that summer indeed has arrived.
