French duo Alcest has earned acclaim for marrying shoegaze’s melodic waves with
the thunderous dramatics of black metal over a decade ago. They show no signs of slowing down

Friday, Apr 14- Saturday, Apr 15: Be Silent & Metal Mortality
Inferno hosts two nights of metal from Shanghai and around China. Be Silent on Friday joins Shanghainese metalcore duo Fighting Back with metal bands Pray for Awakening and Verge of Extinction. The following evening will showcase expat metal bands Hitobashira and Alpaca with symphonic death metal Crusado Orchestra and Hangzhou-based "nu-thrash" metal band October Capricorn.

Saturday, Apr 15: Cloud Nothings
Described
as ‘a band incapable of writing a bad song,’ the Pitchfork-approved
group specialize in hooky, lo-fi rock. They’ve drawn comparisons to
Guided by Voices, worked with iconic producer Steve Albini and have
received raves for last year’s Life Without Sound. Lao Ayi opens.

Sunday, Apr 16: Mosiac
Groovy foursome Mosiac, who are based out of Chengdu and who you might recognize from their performance at last year's Concrete & Grass Festival, bring their disco-inflected pop-rock to Yuyintang. The Shanghai show is part of a China tour in support of their new album, No Club.
