The Pearl are looking for a few good bands as they get ready for their first ever Battle of the Bands on March 18. Six bands will compete for the title of 'best band,' as well as an RMB5,000 prize with winners chosen by a panel of three judges and audience response. With a goal of showcasing some of the talented local acts across Shanghai making original music, they are asking for any artist interested to submit their entry to thepearlshanghai@gmail.com by Friday, March 3 at 6pm. All entries must include a link to the artist's music online, a brief description of the artist, the name and ages of the performers and a contact. For those about to rock, we salute you! And if you need extra motivation, try not to grin through School of Rock's epic Battle of the Nands performance.
Mar 18, 8pm, RMB80-100. The Pearl.
