There's a manicure chain in Shanghai that's giving more than just manicures (or pedicures for that matter).
Authorities are investigating the Jiazhou manicure chain which was found to be improperly providing medical treatment services for diseases such as fungal hand infection, paronychia and fungal nail infection without a license. It was also cheating customers, officials report.
The chain, which has 12 locations in Shanghai, has been ordered by the Shanghai Comission of Health and Family Planning to remove all posters and advertisements offering disease treatment and to stop selling disinfectant as medicine. The retail price for the falsely labeled disinfectant was also being sold for about five times the supply cost.
