The Shanghai International Marathon is now open for registration and runs (pun intended) until September 2 (that's this Friday!), or September 12 for those with priority and charity registrations.
Held on October 30, the marathon works via lottery system, so even if you sign up, there's still a chance you might not get in. However, for those who sign up and do get it, money will be automatically withdrawn from your account. Participants will be notified via text or email of their acceptance.
Full and half entrance fees stand at RMB300 for foreigners or RMB100 for locals, while the 10k and 5k go for RMB80 for foreigners and RMB60 for locals. There are 20,000 slots for the full marathon, 8,000 for both the half marathon and 10k and 5,000 remaining for those participating in the 5k.
With spaces limited, not much time to enter, and some very unique sponsors, we recommend putting your name in the hat. It's now or never!
