Snappers and shutterbugs, here’s the craic. That's Shanghai are holding a photography competition in conjunction with Le Chéile, the Irish Community in Shanghai together with the Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai at the Irish community's 2019 St. Patrick's Day Parade Family Day Event at the historic Waitanyuan district by the Bund on March 9 from 12-4pm.
The theme as always is 'Green in China' — be it something at that reminds you of the Emerald Isle, or simply a flash of the color itself here in the Middle Kingdom; interpret as you will and let your creativity flourish.
Not only will you get the chance to have your photo displayed during the Family Day Event, but there's also a pot of gold at stake, awarded by a genuine leprechaun (maybe).
Yes, we’re talking cash money. The competition will be split up into two catagories: the little people (under 16) and the big people (over 16) with each winner claiming RMB500!
If you need inspiration, here's the winners from last year.
Under 16
Winner: Sara Cusack
Over 16
Winner: Dawn Wong
There are three ways to enter the competition: Instagram; WeChat; and email. Deadline is Friday March 8, and don't forget to let us know which category you are entering too...
