Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...

It's that time of the year where the Movember Foundation are asking a few good men to sacrifice their face and grow a mo for a month in order to raise funds to support men's health issues. Shanghai’s first American style barber shop, Doc Guthrie's, is getting into the act. They want you to shave the date this Sunday on November 1 with shaves available for RMB298, shoe-shines for RMB50 and Jameson for RMB30.

Sign up and you'll receive discounts all month from participating Jing'an businesses like Aboro Academy, Bull & Claw, Le Cafe des Stagiares, Factory 5, Kaiba, Sumerian, The Shed, Wishbone and many more. All proceeds will go to the Movember Foundation, which has raised USD650 million in a dozen years, funding over 1,000 programs focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer and other men’s health issues. If you can't make it on Sunday, Doc Guthrie's will be offering Movemeber shaves until November 7.
