Town Crier! Rain today, rain tomorrow, rain forever (Except for Friday)

Town Crier! is random snippets of Shanghai news that just may have an effect on your life...

Slip into that poncho and open up that umbrella, Shanghai - this week is going to be a wet one.

The city - and much of East China - is facing off against a number of typhoons that are predicted to make landfall over the next week or so, and that means three things: rain, rain and rain.

But there is hope! Friday is predicted to be windy - the windiest day of the week, in fact - but only sports a 20 percent chance of rain. Compare that to Tuesday (100 percent chance) or Saturday (90 percent chance), and it looks like Friday may be our only hope for some sunshine.

Or at least dry clouds.
