Kamayan style dining or a “Boodle Fight” is a traditional style of eating. It actually started off back in the day in the Filipino army. After a long day of marching, soldiers would eat off of banana leaves since they couldn’t carry plates and utensils. The cooks would arrange different food together like rice and meat onto the leaves, once the food was ready, the “fight” would start when hungry soldiers would grab as much food as they could to eat with their hands.
For our next Pinoy Pop-Up, we’ll be serving up Filipino Boodle Fight sets for you to eat. It won’t be as crazy like the army, but you can share the Boodle Sets with your friends and family. The sets are going to be filled with different food, like Crispy Chicharron, Milkfish, Shrimps, Pancit and more! It’s going to be a FEAST.
