With the pace of internationalization and globalization, more and more overseas families and mixed Chinese families are emerging in Shanghai. Members within such families usually communicate in two or more languages. Children's speech and language development are affected by the environment as early as in infancy. Many multilingual families have major concerns over their children's language development, especially for the second language.
Through this workshop, under the guidance of ELG's Speech-Language Pathologist, Tiffany Chen, parents will establish a correct understanding of their children's language development in a multilingual environment, understand and identify possible language development issues that need attention. Finally, parents will learn how to create an optimal environment for children's language development.
