Plastic China is a powerful documentary on the human casualties of unfettered global consumption. Eleven year-old Yi Jie learns about the world from the waste workshop her family lives and works in; Kun, the factory owner and Yi Jie’s father’s boss, is so busy striving for the trappings of success he ignores his own family’s problems. It’s a poignant, stirring and important portrayal of the realities and inequalities of life in contemporary China. The movie is free, happy hour at 6pm is RMB30/cocktail
