If a movie lasts more than two hours, but doesn’t bore you a single minute, then director Alexander Payne, known for brilliant work like Sideways and About Schmidt, must have done something right. And damn, he has done something seriously right this time! With Matt Damon as conformist lower middle-class American work therapist and Christopher Waltz as bourgeoisie Serbian businessman, Downsizing might well be the movie of the year 2018.

We find ourselves in the close, not too far future and it takes a while until we realize that this movie is indeed a bit sci-fi.
