Sennheiser Unveils First Immersive Sound Studios in China

Beijing, October 2016 – China’s audiophiles, premium sound enthusiasts industry and business professionals can immerse themselves in the future of sound from October 10, 2016 until February 28, 2017, in the new Sound Studios created in a partnership between audio specialist Sennheiser and the Peninsula hotels in Beijing and Shanghai. For the first time, audiences in China will be able to discover sound in a new dimension with these special demonstration rooms – lifelike and with accurate representation, using Sennheiser’s innovative technology and engineering.

Each Sound Studio is designed as an immersive experience which will connect audiophiles, premium sound enthusiasts and professional audiences to the future of audio, creating sound stages that are emotionally rich and precise to the point of perfectly drawing the listener into the space.

Sennheiser will present its latest technologies, showcasing how its precise craftsmanship and visionary ideas are shaping the future of audio. Highlights include the business professional solutions with a fully installed Team Connect system and its portable SP20 product for business. Visitors can also experience Sennheiser 3D program AMBEO and the new virtual reality microphone for 3D audio recordings. The Sound Studios will also present the best of its audiophile and premium enthusiast ranges – the new PXC 550 Wireless travel headphones, the perfect reference headphones HD 800 S and the finely-crafted sound icon, the Sennheiser HE 1, lauded as the best headphones in the world.

AMBEO – Live 3D Audio Technology – New Ways to Create and Listen

With its 3D audio technology, AMBEO, Sennheiser allows visitors to the Sound Studios to encounter a new and truly immersive dimension to sound.

Sennheiser’s virtual reality microphone is the first of a series of AMBEO products that will be launched. The innovative 3D microphone is envisioned as a pivotal tool for VR productions. Sennheiser’s commitment to recreate groundbreaking sound has led it to create an in-depth global audio and video industry program, working closely with VR content producers and creators.

The microphone uses four capsules in a tetrahedral arrangement; its signals are converted to B-format files for digital audio workstations by the supplied encoding software. The A-B encoder will be available as VST, AU and AAX plug-ins as well as a stand-alone version for Mac or Windows.

As part of Sennheiser’s Sound Studio, listeners will be able to review original 9.1 recordings and remixes of legacy music in the 9.1 format. Sennheiser’s algorithm intelligently upmixes the original stereo recordings into a stunning 3D audio quality.

Sennheiser will also demonstrate the future of the audio world with its Venue Modeling Audio Plugin, which allows music producers and DJs to replicate the acoustic soundstage of specific venues in their studio recordings.

For business professionals, corporate or event presentations, Sennheiser will demonstrate its uncompromising commitment to how sound transforms and enhances business performance.

Also on show in the Sound Studios and installed by the Peninsula will be the Sennheiser TeamConnect conferencing system - an all-in-one audio conferencing solution that simply connects teams in meetings across all borders with the highest quality Sennheiser speech and sound quality.

TeamConnect Ceiling is the latest innovative addition to the range for conference rooms, providing the perfect solution for meeting spaces that require an aesthetic look combined with high performance - making table top microphones, cables and holes a thing of the past. Audiophiles and visitors can visit the Sound Studios at The Peninsula hotels in Beijing and Shanghai from 10:30am to 8:00pm daily.
