Ignore the French restaurant on the first floor, the real reason Mardi Gras is a favorite haunt of Japanese expats in Shanghai is thanks to the cocktail bar on the second floor. A spacious marble bar looks onto candelabras dripping with wax and a dramatic double height ceiling, but armchairs and couches accommodate larger parties in equal comfort.
Find here a menu of classic drinks and Japanese-led whiskies, though special requests and seasonal fruit cocktails are also welcomed.
The menu is in English, and while service is conducted in Japanese or Chinese, basic communication in English shouldn't be a problem.
