7 Live Music Venues to Check Out in Sanya's Dadonghai

In Sanya, Dadonghai has quite a number of stages hosting local and international musicians and bands. Some play every night while others have a set schedule.

Keep in mind outdoor bands typically switch off the mic around 11pm to follow local noise ordinances. After the bands pack up, these locations on the beach and in open squares often switch on a playlist.

Beach Lover Bar

Offering a variety of international cuisines and plenty of cocktails, Beach Lover Bar also dishes out chart-topping pop and rock music to put everyone in a good mood. The Filipino band NL15 starts in the evening at 7.15pm and jams until 11pm.

Baile Beach Bar

Starting in the evening, the local band at Baile Beach Bar belts in both English and Chinese. We recommend this bar as a place for cocktails, smoothies and snacks rather than for a full meal.

Cloud Rumor Drum Bar

Head here for that nostalgic, eclectic Chinese summer chuanr feel, but on a beach boardwalk instead of on a grimy side street in a mainland city. Grab a beer and hookah while listening to their Chinese band play from 8pm. Many northern Chinese guests stop here, so be ready to hear plenty of er (儿) in the air.

Dolphin Sports Bar

A favorite among locals and tourists, this indoor establishment is located a few kilometers north of Dadonghai. They try to have live music every night during busy seasons and at the moment they have an acoustic Sunday night, open mic on Monday and every other night a live band starting at 9.30pm.

M7 Live Bar

This alfresco shopping and food court is a new addition to Dadonghai’s tourist area. The band plays every night from 8-11pm. Several snacks, drink and food stalls are situated around this food court and the project is a collaboration of multiple owners.

Pattaya Sea View Restaurant

This restaurant offers a hodge-podge of Western, Chinese and Thai food along with sometimes being the kitchen for Sanya’s only Uzbek food chef. The music? There’s a guy with an acoustic guitar who serenades the audience on occasion, but sometimes instead it’s a dancer or DJ.

Summer Mall Courtyard

The live bands and singers here only sometimes show up, so just know this is a hit or miss. As the mall closes at 10pm, the mic switches off a bit earlier than other locations. We’ve noticed when they have live music, it usually starts around 8pm.
