If you’ve got an emergency, call 119 for the fire department, 120 for a medical emergency and 110 for the police.
For non-urgent issues, keep reading to find out how to get in contact with the Sanya Traffic Police via their official WeChat Account.
We first want to give a big thanks to That’s Sanya reader Peter Reed* and Officer Li for their tips in this story.
Reed contacted us with a bit of gossip that he had heard there was a WeChat group where residents could contact the police directly. He had a complaint about a taxi that he wanted to submit along with video footage.
Officer Li happens to be our go-to traffic police officer, so we asked him to validate the truth of this rumored WeChat group.
Reed’s gossip was partially true. Officer Li confirmed that residents can contact the traffic police on WeChat, but through an official account. Li then sent us these screenshots and showed us how to make a complaint.
First, search for 三亚交警 and follow the account. Or scan the QR Code in this picture.

We forwarded it on to Reed who was thankful and successfully made his complaint. Feedback from him is that anyone can contact the traffic police in this way, but to submit a video or picture, readers will need to register with a Chinese ID. Therefore, have a willing friend ready with their ID to submit digital material.
