On June 19, the 100% Doraemon & FRIENDS Touring Exhibition – Guangzhou Stop officially opened at K11 Art Mall Guangzhou (hereinafter 'K11 Guangzhou'). Co-produced by creative studio AllRightsReserved and Fujiko Pro, and hosted by K11 Guangzhou in partnership with Doraemon’s official Chinese mainland distributor Aiying (Shanghai), this marks one of the largest-scale Doraemon exhibitions in the world.
Running from June 20 to August 31, the exhibition spans over 2,000 square meters.
Highlights include the China debut of the imaginative 'Infinite Doraemon World' zone, two themed pop-up stores, and multiple collaborative dishes launched with partnering restaurants. Unique to this city stop is an exclusive design: Doraemon transformed into a 'Goat Doraemon,' a tribute to Guangzhou’s 'City of Goats' identity—guaranteed to spark a local craze.
A City-Wide Celebration of Doraemon
To celebrate the exhibition’s launch, starting May 31, K11 partnered with Guangzhou Metro Media, Guangzhou Bus Group, Ru Yue Ride-Hailing, GZ Urban Investment Commercial Group, and GD Commercial Group to roll out a citywide 'Doraemon City Tour' campaign.
Doraemon-themed takeovers appeared at 24 platforms across 17 metro stations. Sightseeing buses and taxis also featured Doraemon wraps for the first time, creating an all-city photo frenzy. From Haixinsha Park and Huachenghui to the Metro Museum and Yifang Dongshan, more than ten Doraemon-themed art installations—featuring the signature 'Anywhere Door'—turned into popular selfie spots. Visitors who joined the check-in campaign had a chance to win limited-edition gifts from the exhibition. The hashtag #AnywhereDoorinGuangzhou quickly trended on local social media.
An Immersive Summer Destination at the GBA’s Hottest Culture Hub
K11 Guangzhou has curated three ticketed and two free zones for the exhibition.
The free zones focus on the West Gate entrance, where fans are welcomed by the '100% Doraemon Blue Carpet' and the 'Giant Comic Wall' for a walk-in-comic immersive experience.
The main ticketed areas include the '100% Doraemon Outdoor Sculpture Park' featuring 66 life-size Doraemon sculptures in various playful poses, plus a 12-meter-tall inflatable Doraemon towering beside Guangzhou’s tallest skyscraper for dramatic visual impact.
Other highlights include the China debut of the 'Infinite Doraemon World' and the exclusive screening of 'Giant’s World Tour Concert,' an animated short film produced by Japan’s Studio Zero, which features the original creative team behind the Doraemon series.
Limited-Edition Souvenirs Only in Guangzhou
Two pop-up stores on L2 and B1 floors offer regular and VIP shopping zones, with exclusive city-themed collectibles such as magnet plush toys, a goat-Doraemon capsule collection, limited-edition figures, and a purple yam-themed Doraemon suitcase. These city-specific items are quickly becoming sought-after fashion statements and cultural tokens.
The crowd turnout was overwhelming, confirming Doraemon’s timeless appeal across generations. Blending nostalgia with local identity, this exhibition has already become one of Guangzhou’s top cultural events of the summer.
Redefining Art & Luxury in the GBA
K11 Guangzhou continues to lead with a clear vision—reshaping the city’s high-end commercial scene and pioneering a new blueprint for cultural-luxury integration. Its upgrade sets a new benchmark for Guangzhou and the broader premium retail sector across China.
Since opening in 2018, K11 Guangzhou has become the city’s pioneering destination blending art and retail. By mid-2025, K11 Guangzhou takes a decisive leap forward with a major brand upgrade, redefining the luxury retail scene and breaking the one-store-per-brand model previously dominant in the city.
Alongside newly opened Guangzhou-firsts like Brunello Cucinelli, Yohji Yamamoto, BALMAIN, Christian Louboutin, and 30 leading designer labels at Milan-based concept store ANTONIA, this transformation also welcomes exclusive concept stores by Pomellato, Dolce & Gabbana, and Vivienne Westwood. The mall will soon unveil the Chinese mainland’s first GUCCI boutique in its latest image format, along with upcoming openings from BALENCIAGA and TOD’S this July—marking a new era in upscale lifestyle retail in Guangzhou.
