On August 14, WCFN hosted its International White Collar Fight Night Valentine’s Day Special, ‘Fight for Love’ Gold Fight, at Sea World Shenzhen.

This year, in light of the pandemic and the Olympics in Tokyo, President Xi Jinping has urged China to participate and carry out more events that encourage and promote fitness and health.

In response, the WCFN hosted its 35th event in five years this month, right in the middle of Sea World Shenzhen. The attendance was estimated at 400, and a Livestream in the thousands.

John Graham Harper, founder and president of WCFN, began the federation in December 2016, with a vision to inspire ordinary men and women with jobs and careers to get more active. Furthermore, it is to challenge themselves in the boxing ring.

“WCFN is 100% safe and anyone can try it, regardless of your level, I will match you with someone on your level and you can experience this challenge; which will carry over to other areas of your life, to your work, family, relationships and you become a better person,” Harper told Shenzhen TV media.

The Shenzhen community was excited after seeing China win 88 Gold medals in the recent Olympic Games in Tokyo. This was the same group of spirited people who came out to cheer on the fighters and enjoy the outdoor Sea World event.

The theme of WCFN035 Gold Fight, just like the spirit of the Olympic Games, was ‘Fight for Love.’ August 14 was Chinese Valentine’s Day and there was no better way to spend the day with your loved one than coming and watching an amazing display for grind and passion in the ring by the fighter participants.

For the main event, a member of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference, HaiGe Logistics Chairman, Ken (Mei) Chunlei went up against Egor Bykov, a white-collar worker from Russia – 27 years younger than Mei.

The fight brought excitement and cheering from all the supporters. Mei, at 52 years old and still fighting, was a great inspiration to other white collars and spectators.

WCFN was proud to, for the second time in its history, partner together with Miki Media to host the event at the Sea World Shopping Center.

White-collar boxing trainees came from all walks of life as well as different cities to represent themselves and their gyms.

Stay tuned for December 12, when WCFN launches its end-of-the-year event. Spectators such as those who participated last year will be there in full force and in the thousands.
