St. Patrick’s Day is upon us, which means it’s time to sport your greenest outfit, blast some Irish tunes and drink like no one’s watching. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing coronavirus prevention and containment measures, there are notably less events happening this year compared to 2019. That said, there are still a few celebrations happening around town for you to partake in… Below, we round up the top St. Patrick’s Day events happening in Guangzhou on March 17.

13Factories

Stuff your face this St. Pat’s Day with 13Fact’s deli reuben (RMB88), which is composed of house-made corned beef brisket and sauerkraut with Swiss cheese on sourdough rye bread. Alternatively, order yourself the milk stout cottage pie for RMB88. Drink deals will also be on offer, including six shots of Jameson for RMB150, Irish ‘depth charges’ for RMB55 and green cocktails for RMB50. Of note: Drink deals cannot be ‘doubled up’ with the restaurant’s regular happy hour, which runs from 3-7pm.

Tue Mar 17, 11am-midnight; free entry. 13Factories.

Gail’s

Starting Sunday, enjoy three hours of free flow green beer with the purchase of Gail’s mozzarella cheese stick burger or shepherd’s pie for RMB99. Green margarita’s will also be available for RMB35.

Sun-Tue Mar 15-17, 10.30am-10.30pm; free entry. Gail’s.

Hooley’s Irish Pub & Restaurant

It’s hard to think of a better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than by getting boozy in an Irish pub. This year, the fine folks at Hooley’s are celebrating with Irish music and a slew of great specials, including six Jameson shots for RMB160, four pints of Guinness for RMB198 and a seven-hour happy hour (from 1-8pm). There will also be food deals and a lucky draw, so don’t miss out!

Tue Mar 17, 1pm-late; free entry. Hooley’s Irish Pub & Restaurant.

Morgan’s Public House

Johnny Morgan and the gang are inviting you to celebrate with them this St. Patrick’s Day. Stop by Morgan’s Public House to enjoy food specials – including beef and Guinness pie for RMB78 – and discounts on Guinness (pints for RMB50) and Jameson Irish Whiskey (doubles for RMB50). Of course, classic Irish tunes will be a prominent feature of the party!

Tue Mar 17, 11.30am-late; free entry. Morgan’s Public House.

Out of Office

Yuexiu’s Out of Office is offering one free brew for patrons who order a drink at the ’60s themed bar. A St. Patrick’s Day themed movie will also be shown on the rooftop at Park 10 Social – directly outside Out of Office.

Tue Mar 17; free entry. Out of Office.

Rebel Rebel

Cheers some beers and partake in a St. Patrick’s Day themed trivia night at Rebel Rebel on March 17. Set to be hosted by none other than Guangzhou’s premier quiz host, Frank Scialdone, this event is guaranteed to be a blast! Of note: Bar staff have informed us that this event may be subject to change, due to the ongoing coronavirus prevention and control measures. If you are interested in attending, please call James at 139 2400 0990 to confirm the quiz is still being held.

Tue Mar 17, 8.30-10.30pm; free entry. Rebel Rebel.
