Everyone loves to drink and eat around the holidays – that’s what they’re for! So, we’ve come up with a solid list of venues, in no particular order, worth checking out during the holidays:

1. XL Space

In order to keep up with the ever-changing food and beverage scene in Guangzhou, XL Space has renovated and remodeled! The dining bar provides patrons with the optimal blend of aesthetics, taste, entertainment and relaxation. On the ground floor, the interior is lined with green potted plants and coral red seating to give guests a sense of fun and comfort. Leave all the stress at the door, and enjoy great food and drinks at this Liede haunt.

As soon as you walk up to the venue’s second floor, you will see a professional Texas Hold’em table and two online battle dartboards set up for some good ol’ fashioned fun. Both games have been well received by patrons and add an exciting element to XL Space (along with the seemingly limitless string of LED lights on the top floor).

Additionally, catch all your favorite games here, as ESPN is streamed for the entertainment of bar-goers. Enjoy attentive service and an all-around excellent time at XL Space.

From December 19-25, patrons purchasing a Carlsberg product will receive a free Christmas-themed Carlsberg hat. On December 24 and 25, guests purchasing Carlsberg beverages will be given various branded products.

2. The Path

The Path, a unique Southeast Asian restaurant on Huajiu Lu in Zhujiang New Town, is pulling out all the stops on Guangzhou’s beloved bar street. If you fancy cozy Southeast Asian cuisine in the bustling CBD, The Path should definitely be at the top of your wish list (take notes, Santa!). We recommend the boneless chicken feet in Thai chili sauce and green papaya with beef salad followed by the one and only seafood tom yum soup, which will warm you up on these colder Guangzhou nights.

For mains, you’ve got to try the stir-fried prawns and crab with signature curry, a flavorful curry served on a toasted, buttered bun. In order to create a better dining experience, The Path also has a wide selection of beers. From the most down-to-earth drafts, like Jing-A IPA, to the distinctive WFSM Jasmine Flavor, there’s something for everyone.

3. Lucky Store Barbecue & Beer

Where is the most bountiful barbecue in Guangzhou? Which barbecue restaurant has the most beer options? If we could take an educated guess, Lucky Store Barbecue and Beer is the spot. This is a unique barbecue and beer bar, with supermarket-level options to choose from. You can find a wide range of fresh ingredients in the venue’s fridges. Patrons can feast on fresh seafood from local markets as well as unique Hunan-style small skewers mixed with other regional barbecues from all over China. The menu here includes roasted beef, grilled eggplant, grilled beef butter, grilled corn, Wuhan yellow croaker and much more. Seafood options include the grilled shrimp, grilled oysters and grilled abalone (and who doesn’t love grilled and seasoned abalone?).

If you don’t like barbecue, don’t fret. Lucky Store also serves up Hunan rice noodles, roasted potatoes, crab claws and roasted bullfrogs as well.

Of course, you can’t enjoy a good barbecue without the right suds and Jing-A and Brooklyn craft beers are the perfect beer pairing for flame-cooked meats and veggies. With selected craft beer from all over the world, beer lovers will find this place to be their ‘adopted’ home.
