That’s Guangzhou takes a look at the best gigs of the weekend:
Fri, Sep 6: The fin. @ Mao Livehouse

Japanese dream-pop band The fin. have been making music since 2012, when the group initially formed and released a single track on Soundcloud. Inspired by the lazy chillwave perfected by modern indie bands like Washed Out and groovy synth-driven dance pop of the ’80s, The fin. crafts softly textured soundscapes that are both melancholy and uplifting by nature. A popular touring act in China over the past few years, The fin. are returning again this year in support of There, their sophomore full-length release which debuted last year.
Fri Sep 6, 8.30pm; RMB150 presale. Mao Livehouse. See event listing. Tickets.
Sat, Sep 7: GriffO @ T:union

This math rock band from Hangzhou comes up with some pretty mind-twisting melodies for listeners to revel in. Coming to T:union this weekend, GriffO has a growing fanbase that craves the synths and complex drum beats commonly heard on the band’s tracks. See what this young musical group is all about on Saturday.
Sat Sep 7, 10.30pm; RMB80 presale, RMB100 at door. T:union. See event listing. Tickets.
