Tear gas was accidentally released in Central, Hong Kong on Wednesday night after a box carrying four canisters of the riot control weapon fell out of a police van and was hit by a passing car, according to South China Morning Post.

At around 9.20pm, a woman driving a Mercedes-Benz ran over the chemical weapon, which immediately emitted a cloud of smoke. According to local reports, the driver, surnamed Wai, was so upset that she immediately got out of her car and ran a safe distance away. Police were promptly dispatched to the scene.

Luckily, no one was injured in the incident and police are currently trying to determine how the lachrymator agent fell from the van.
