With Easter Sunday quickly approaching, we’ve made your job easier by rounding up some notable places to celebrate the resurrection of Christ in Canton. Be sure to also check out our mega brunch and events guide for Easter celebrations before or after mass!

Pro tip: be sure to bring your passport, as some congregations may require it for entry.

Dongshan Christian Church

On Easter Sunday, services will be held in Mandarin at 8am, 9.30am, 11am, 2pm and 7.30pm, as well as in Cantonese at 12.30pm. A bilingual (English and Mandarin) service will be held at 4pm.

Fangcun Christian Church

Easter Sunday services will be held in Mandarin at 9.30am and Cantonese at 2pm.

Guangxiao Christian Church

A Cantonese and Mandarin service will be held on Easter Sunday at 9am, while two Mandarin services will occur at 11.30am and 7.30pm. Good Friday mass will be observed at 9am and 7.30pm in both Mandarin and Cantonese.

Guangzhou International Christian Fellowship

This Easter Sunday, Guangzhou International Christian Fellowship's English-language service will start at 10am at their regular meeting place at the Hilton Hotel. In accordance with regulations, only foreign nationals or those holding foreign residency permits are able to attend.

Our Lady of Lourdes – Shamian Catholic Church

Our Lady of Lourdes – Shamian Catholic Church will hold an Easter Sunday service in Cantonese at 8.30am, followed by an English service at 11am.

Sacred Heart Cathedral

Easter Sunday ceremonies will run in Cantonese at 8.30am, in Chinese at 10.30am and in English at 3.30pm. In addition, there will be a service at 7.30pm on Saturday (Mandarin), while Good Friday ceremonies will occur at 3pm and 8pm (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Shahe Christian Church

A Sunday service will be held in Mandarin at 9am and 2pm. Visit the Shahe Christian Church at 7.30pm on Good Friday to partake in a Mandarin service.

St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral

Services will be held on Sunday in Mandarin and Cantonese at 8.30am, while an English service starts at 11am.

The Christian Church of Our Savior

The Christian Church of Our Savior will hold four services on Easter Sunday: 9am in Cantonese and 11am, 2.30pm and 7.30pm in Mandarin.
