Tue-Sun, ongoing: Dream Back to the Greatest Era

With nearly 160 artifacts dating back to the Tang Dynasty, borrowed from Shaanxi Province Archeology Study Institute, Luoyang Museum and Xi’an Museum, this exhibition at the Guangdong Museum takes audiences on a journey through time. Visitors can catch a glimpse into the everyday life, poetry, dances and music of the Tang Dynasty in its heyday.

Thu, Mar 28: Emmure

Emmure are celebrated for their chaotic blend of blistering hardcore and death metal, and have garnered a passionate legion of fans. Their 2009 album Felony blew things wide open for the group, as they established their trademark sound and connected with a worldwide audience. Emmure’s live performances are as entertaining as they come, and when the band steps on stage, they unleash a frenzy of energy that will have you headbanging like Wayne and Garth.

Fri, Mar 29: Happy Hour Drinks at Morton’s Grille

Unwind this Friday with the folks from AustCham at their signature ‘Happy Hour Drinks’ event at Morton’s Grille. Slam back a couple of cold drinks, catch up with familiar faces and maybe even meet a new friend or two. The cover charge includes a welcome drink and snacks and Mette Pausgaard from Mimir Consulting will be the event’s guest speaker.

Fri-Sat, Mar 29-30: Little Women

Founded in 1999, Chapterhouse Theater Company specializes in performances under the stars at some of the most beautiful gardens the UK has to offer. The renowned theater troupe will bring one of the most-read stories of wartime relationships from the world of literature – Little Women – to the stage at Xinghai Concert Hall this week.

Sat, Mar 30: WOW

WOW, or Women of the World, is an a cappella group that was formed at the renowned Berklee College of Music. The four-member group is comprised of Ayumi Ueda of Japan, Giorgia Renosto of Italy, Annette Phillip of India and Haitian-American Debo Ray, and, believe it or not, they can sing in a total of 29 languages. In celebration of womanhood, come to Guangzhou Opera House and be wowed!

Sat, Mar 30: Idea Exchange Spring Dinner Party

On the theme of India, this year’s Idea Exchange Spring Dinner Party is a great chance to interact and network with like-minded people, all while sipping booze and dining on finger-lickin’ good Indian food. Sun, Mar 31: Christine Walevska

Born in 1943, renowned American cellist Christine Walevska is referred to as ‘the goddess of the cello’ by fans. She first stepped on stage at the age of 18 years old, and has been actively performing all over the world ever since. Accompanied by Japanese pianist Akimi Fukuhara, her concert in Guangzhou is not to be missed.

Sun, Mar 31: Guangzhou Quiz Cup

This Sunday afternoon, Guangzhou’s finest trivia teams will gather at Morgan’s to battle it out in the ‘quiz to end all quizzes,’ with the Guangzhou Quiz Cup hanging in the balance. With loads of prizes on hand, this will be a fun and challenging trivia catering to the top teams from Guangzhou’s four major quiz nights.
