That's Guangzhou takes a look at the best gigs of the week.
Fri, Mar 22: Next Door @ T:union
In the course of describing this band's sound, the show's promotors somehow use the word punk. Nothing could be further from describing Next Door than the word punk. However, if you have ever wondered what it would sound like if One Direction were a Chinese band, then you can stop wondering. Next Door, a foursome that combine mouth organs, vocal harmonies and extremely catchy and bouncy rhythms, are coming to Guangdong this weekend to illustrate their pop rock chops.
Fri Mar 22, 8pm; RMB120 presale, RMB150 at the door. T:union. See event listing. Tickets.
Sat, Mar 22: Techno Party @ The Window
Hong Kong DJ Jeremy Cheung has been messing around quite a bit in Shenzhen of late. This week he arrives in Guangzhou at the newly opened The Window techno club in Zhujiang New Town. Joining him will be Dim and Joe Li.
Sat Mar 22, 11pm; RMB50 presale, RMB80 at the door. The Window. See event listing. Tickets.
Sat, Mar 23: Jajatao @ T:union
This heavy-hitting punk band combines screamcore with old school punk elements to make music quite unlike most of the other tunes you can catch around the country at the moment. Melodically grating upon the ear, Jiajiatao are well worth a visit, if only for the spectacle of it all.
Sat Mar 23, 8.30pm; RMB100 presale, RMB120 at the door. T:union. See event listing. Tickets.
