Local techno crew Yin Yang Guild are back with another event this weekend, again teaming up with the guys from Mao Livehouse. Undertaking what they call a social experiment, using the controversial iOS feature AirDrop, the Haizhu-based group are seeking to present a new way of partying for revellers so as to break with tedium and tradition.

Sat, Dec 15: Zhaoze @ Guangzhou Opera House Experimental Theater
Zhaoze's concerts are just about one of the most unique and original viewing experiences that you can find in Southern China today. Making use of the guqin, the Guangzhou natives combine the spine-tingling sound of that old Chinese instrument with great lightwork to create a mysterious and sensuous ambiance at each of their shows. Catch them playing their new release Zhengming and celebrating twenty years together as a band.

Shanghai rapper Kc goes out on tour in support of his new album, Spades K. Having spent eight years on the scene writing personal lyrics, the youngster has seen a lot. Catch him for razor fast flows this Sunday evening.

Sun, Dec 16: Yannick Barman @ Zhile Art Space
Swiss jazzman slash electronic musician Yannick Barman will bring his cross-boundary art to Guangzhou’s audience this week. Pop in the to see Barman in action as the musical wizard plays a trumpet and manipulates a computer with the company of electronic music and video art.
